Today's review will be on The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA.

Online claim: 

1. Reduces the appearance of dark spots

2. Reduces uneven skin tone/Skin tone improvement

3. Color Correction/Tone correction

4. Brightening

5. Recommended for extra sensitive, oily, normal, dry, acne-prone, mature, combination skin

Background information on the product:

Alpha Arbutin is a biosynthetic (the production of a chemical compound by a living organism) active ingredient that targets the look of spots and overall even skin tone. Product claims to give you 2% concentration versus the "commonly used" concentration 1% (whatever that means right? We don't know).

Opinions after 1 bottle of use:

I purchased my first bottle on July 23, 2022.

Today is September 16, 2022.

(I have a tiny drop left at the bottom of the bottle which I can't take out with the applicator that comes with the packaging but I'm planning to try and attempt to use it tomorrow before I open a new bottle.)

If my calculation is correct, I've had this product and used it for about or almost 8 weeks. 

I use this product twice a day, once in the morning and once at night before bed. 

Considering the price of $10 for almost 2 months is not bad! I think I could have stretch it to 3 months now that I know it can last me that long. Some days I do use more vs others and I think I forgot to put it on only once during the day (because I was rushing) within those 8 weeks.

but

within those 8 weeks, 

I had a pimple on my forehead. I picked on it and had a scar. 

I noticed that with the use of this serum that scar had completely disappear! I was so impressed. 

Wish I had kept a timeline of when the scarring happened, when I used to when the scar had disappear. I did not expect the product to work so I didn't take note of it. 

So because of that I want to keep trying this product and hopefully it can improve 

my sunspots, melanin, acne scars, and the discoloration on my face.

Besides the scar on my forehead 

I have not seen any improvements in my face overall (because everything else is still on there, sadly). 

I recently had a bad breakout and you know it! 

I picked on them for the sole purpose to see those scars go away with the use of this product. 

Lets see how the scar/scars on my chin heal vs the scar on my forehead.

Base on the reviews online, it seems that this product does help other people with acne scars and some say it helps fade their dark spots. Others say it did nothing for them so I can understand from both views. I want to try the second bottle and will come back to update. Overall, I would say give it a try since the product is only $10 and can last up to almost 3 months. That is a good amount of time to make up your mind. I like it but not 100% percent so I will continue to use it for a few more months and will come back to say my final verdict. 

ONE CON THAT I WANT TO MENTION BEFORE I GO: this product is one of those product that you have to keep using or else your face will "return" back to it's "original" form (sucks!). Arbutin is temporary ONLY! Let's insert the crying emoji here because what's the point in using it now lmao!

For you it's magic but for me I'll see you guys in 2 or maybe 3 months from now. Bye.
